Improving Flotation Selectivity through Vacuum Bubble Conditioning

The CVBD – Micro/Nano Vacuum Bubbles Device promotes significant efficiency gains in flotation processes. Micro- and nano-scale vacuum bubbles, when imploding at the mineral surface, promote the dispersion of electrostatic charges present on particle surfaces.

This effect not only enables fine desliming of ultrafine particles adhered to the surface of particles targeted for thickening and flotation, but also enhances surface liberation, allowing for more effective interaction with depressants and collectors.

The image sequence below illustrates how the integration of CVBD as a pre-flotation conditioning step, as well as during depressant and collector addition, improves flotation performance. In practical applications, efficiency gains of up to 10% in flotation performance have been observed while maintaining the same reagent dosage.
